I touched up Martha Jone's arse today

She didn't seem to mind too much. Okay it's only a cardboard cut-out in Forbidden Planet (maybe one day I'll get to touch a real ladies bottom), in London, I went else where in London too. To the bfi went I (and a lady friend), for an evening (well an hour and a half) of Robert Webb, David Mitchell, those writers of Peep Show Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong, the producer Phil Clarke and Sam Delaney a presenter I only recognise from shit Telly talking about one of the best shows on the tellybox, Peep Show! The evening had the six men talking about the show (as you would expect) showing video clips including some clips that inspired them such as that Woody Allen chap from a film I gather is rather funny, and a clip from 'Being Caprice' which I gather isn't funny, it's rather dire and boring, but was shot in POV style so could be said to inspire the Peep Show. Praise be if someone as bland as Caprice inspired something so inspired as Peep Show. Huzaah!

They also showed the never seen before Pilot for Peep Show (this should be on DVD! Why is it not on DVD!?!) which was interesting viewing, alot of gags in the pilot could be found in the first series, such as Jeremy's interview with JLB Credit (I'm being nerdy here folks, forgive me, randomness will resume by the end of this blog). What was different was the use of a lot of incidental music which ruined the show, alot of Jez and Mark watching TV which added little to the show and some incredibly disorientating camera work which, whilst more true to the POV format, didn't quite work, thank fuck for some artistic license. All in all it was a lovely evening, some discussion of series 5 (they're writing it!), brief discussion of the america version (they're writing it!), and general discussion of the show in general (they wrote it). Perfect for a Peep Show geek.Look I've got the new DVD as well as some Battlestar Galactica Mock-lego toys. I'm sad. But not as sad as the 'journalist' who wrote this tripe headline in popular London toilet paper the 'London Lite' in regards to everyone's favourite Rihanna. You see what they did there? Ugh.

That Mitchell and Webb weekend

Hello Friends, if you don't like them Mitchell and Webbs comedians, this might not be the most intersting of blog entries for you lucky people. This weekend I have been mostly binging on the Webb and Mitchell, so much so they're probably seared on my retinas.

Well Friday afternoon after my exam I quickly flew away to foggy old London town (although I'm not superman so went by train to London). I'm not really sure what to write of the evening, when Cheryl and Dan have done a good job on hinting but not saying much. It was a warm up night of some of the average unsure about material for the TV series That Mitchell and Webb Look. It was alright, some solid stuff, 'No one pisses in Star Wars' is the only quote I can really remember of the night, which say something of my star wars addiction, although there was a good Numberwang sketch which nicely diverted from the normal. There was a magic table that bizarelley assited Rob and David in the first half (which seemed to be only there for Rob to mime to put a bullclip down either that or it's David's lucky table) and there was their producer Gareth Edwards once again making me go into a giggly state through sheer Richard Madelyisms (if the rumours are true and Judy is wanting to quit TV, Richard could do a lot worse than working with Gareth Edwards). So Yes, it was some solid comedy stuff, and will be most intersting to see how some of them are done on that flashing telly box thing.

Saturday I saw the magicans film with the Cheryl fan person. It was alright, I really can't think of anything bad say about it, it was well cast (nice to see Jessica Stevenson on the screen again) with Rob and David being good in their roles and the 'Oh look it's her/him from Peep Show', the film managed to crack up a bit of tension at the conclusion, it was generally a nice film, but (here's the but) it just wasn't really that funny sadly. Bit Cliched, bit bland, bit of alright, it was just well... fine. In a word, it was well alright.

Just not comparable to Peep Show, talking of that, the series conclusion had made me realise just how dark, bleak and full of self loathing the show can be. It was definetly one of the strongest episodes of the series, of a series that whilst not being as good as the previous three, is definetly funnier than any other show on TV at the moment. What with all the set of Sophie up as a lovely person, it was just painful to watch at times. It ended as nicely as you could want from had transpired, it was funny, you could tell Robert and David were enjoying their parts, it was dark, fucking dark.

And there is my Mitchell and Webb obsessed post, did I mention I like Mitchell and Webb?

Catch up post

The last couple of days have been quite interesting blog? Want to hear about them? It might be quite long. No? Oh well, scroll down to the end of the blog and look at the pic of my arse and then leave.

Not wishing to start up a theme in my blog posts, but my first point on the agenda is poo. I'm getting the poo in early because it give me plenty of oppurtunity for some creative writing by inserting as many poo puns as possible. Did you know I'm on a graphic design degree of sorts? No I never talk about it, I'm not quite sure why not, maybe there's just not much comedy to be extracted from it. Anyway as part of the design degree of sorts I and someone else was selected (guess I must be pleasing some people of the graphic desing degree of sorts) to do some design work for the Royal Society (which apparently is a big deal, but I'm quite niave of science, and don't really understand science, that's what happens when you have a science teacher of dad). One of the features of the display will be a gut model, which we foolish agreed to be shown, I not quite realising it was 4 valves passing poo (real poo) around through pipes simulating the colon. Apparently at the exhibtion the real thing will only have brown coloured liquid, probably for the best, poo smells folks. Geh! Poo!

I entered the bowles of London (thanks Dan) last night to watch the Mitchell and Webb comdians (who do have some shit on the C.V. people) with their cohorts to record another part of their quite good radio sketch show. It was solid comedy stuff as usual, all the strongest material was on the first night and sadly the quality of the material may have declined a little (Geh!). The heat in studio certainly didn't assist my comedy enjoyment factor. Blasted heat. But I enjoyed seeing the comedy with the Cheryl and Dan and their respective cohorts. The comedy was certainly not of the quality where I can poo puns, but the shit storm on Oxford Street was a bit annoying when walking down it. And I was annoyed in the bowles of me on the bowles of London (Oxford Street) when I couldn't find any good shitting points, I'm not paying to shit, and the one in Virgin was closed, and I just can't work out how the fuck to use those McDonalds taps on Oxford Street. Don't worry, my hands got quite the thorough clean after I had seen the gut model. I'm so sorry that I've now got the delussion in my blog posts that you wanted to hear of my pooing woes.

On Thursday night I might have well shat on the stage at karaoke and would have got a more welcome reception. "But Richard hasn't heard you sing" was enough encouragement I needed to do Karaoke. I decided it would be fucking hilarious to do Avril Lavigne's Sk8er Boi (I almost wrote Sk8er Boil, now imagine the songs, boiling fresh skaters!). I got booed during it, and as not a regular karoke singer I often forget I can't hold a tune, admitedly I was egging on some of the booing, but apparently there was cheering at the end (that I'd finished) and people were singing along to it (why weren't they singing louder over my voice eh?). Video footage may exist of this haunting rendition, my friend's phone was definetly pointed at the stage, and I never quite got confirmation he did record it). No one would want such a video on YouTube anyway. Would hurt their ears.

And now as promised, the photo of my arse, I could explain the context to the photo, but why bother. Poo comes out my arse folks!

What I watched last night

Last night I watched that Mitchell and Webb comedians of PC and Mac fame and probably some television delight fame (with their loyal stalkers Cheryl and Dan, who I happened to find pictures of them on google images when I searched for a pic to accompany this post), record the third series of their hit radio show That Mitchell and Webb Sound. And without going into specifics (mainly because I can't really remember specifics, and I'd like to pretend that I'm caring and such to my fans so as to not spoil it for fans) I really enjoyed it. Surreal and stupid as usual, but it featured the usual Mitchell and Webb quirks one might expect, David Mitchell being posh and excited for a change. It was delightful stuff that I felt more than happy to add my laughter to the show. Much funnier than an underwhelming radio two pilot that the Mitchell and Webb double act recorded a couple of weeks ago that I neglected to blog about because it just underwhelmed me. That Mitchell and Webb sound is much funnier! Listen to that, when it's on the radio, and then released on audio CD in quick sucession, oh I love a comedy cash cow.

Also because I'm wild and recless I stayed up till 1:40 AM (AM, yes AM, wild!) to watch Fuck off I'm Ginger. I was expecting some awful show I'd switch off at about 5 minutes in, what I found was a slightly an interesting, quirky little documentry that I actually enjoyed. Presented by the ginger of half of Big Cook Little Cook (you know the show, don't pretend you have lives or are an adult) it featured him being honest about his lack of love life, as well as sciencey bits, meeting other gingers and him generally a cheerful delightful charming host.Of course there was the necessary titilation, a run through of nicknames for gingers, the necessary issue of ginger pubes with a guy who dyes his hair (traitor!) and the show featured such Z list stars as Bradley from Eastenders and Fizz from corrie, but excusing those factors it was an honest look at being ginger. It was concluded nicely, it's not really about being ginger in regards to how you live life, it's all about confidence. I just wish they had called it something other than 'Fuck off I'm ginger', to me it implied an obnoxious smug television program much in the vain of the ginger survival guide, when infact it wasn't that. I'd like to think the delightful night of comedy put me in a good mood, but I found it a charming little show. BBC3 hasn't all become shit, huzzah!

London *insert hilarious cockney comment here*

Hello there, I met up with that Jemima chapette and Bert chap of blogging fame today for an afternoon of fun. Because they own blogs I best blog about it, otherwise I will be disowned like the freak I probably am, unique freak I want to stress. Well we went to some place which I'm now offically convinced is the best place in London after that place where the prostitues died, county hall. Prositutes didn't die in county hall, all though one or two might have, I was using a comma (because I'm a big fan of grammar and all) to seperate points. Grammar woooo! Dance us for grammar, I love this punctuation.

We went to an underground arcade because that Bert chappy said it was fun, and it was, I loved demonstrating to my blogging friends I suck at anything competitive! First up was some dancing machine, where I successfully got out danced by both lovely bloggers, but I got to hear Steps' 5,6,7.8 and stomp and well as Cotton Eyed Joe so swings and roundabouts. Next up was bowling where with my first attempt I merely attempted to destory the place and try and smash the floor as a mark of protest for making us pay to bowl (they should be paying us to bowl!) and produced a wonderfully loosing game (which was quite mixed with gutter balls and spares) beaten yet again by the lovely bloggers. Next up was air hockey, Jemima being quite an addict of such a table, and another plentiful happy place for me to be beaten again!

I feel at this point I must point out through my continuing loosing I was infact, as I do with any competitor I have in any game type situation, merely boosting their ego, allowing them to enjoy themselves much more and demonstrating the wonderful amount of ginger generoisity I have as an out ginger man.

Saying that, I did win some games, taking the time to presume anything in the wonderful place was a game. I won the toilet game (I didn't quite elaborate as to how this was a game, but it was agreed that I had won), I won the getting asked if you want ketchup with your meal and getting the waitress to touch my hand in exchaning change, I could have won the cash machine game if I'd of played it, and I would have so won the fire exit game. But I did win one real game, Dodgems! (Once I realised you have to put your foot on a peddel like in those car things that knock pedestrains over) I bashed like well good.

All in all I had a fun time at the fun house.Talking of fun house, this clip from Adam Buxton made me laugh a little too much last night.

In your face Dan, I can do youtuebing of comedy clips I like too!

Comic Relief Rant

I know it's for charity, I know it's a worthwhile honourable cause, I know I should be more like Billy Connelly, AntandDec, Davina McCall and do some well meaning moving appeal on behalf of Comic Relief and tell you how the money was spent, I know it's not really supposed to be about the comedy, it's supposed to be about raising money and comedy stars doing something generous and whatnot (I can't be assed to go with a cynical edge and wonder if the celebrities donated their own money to charity) and I know I'm a monster for not donating any money to comic relief this year but...

...the comedy was mostly quite shite. Let's get the first shite out. The Catherine Tate is Shite. Tony Blair? Oh dear... I can't quite put into words my dissapointment with the sketch, Tony is a bloody actor! I could do some political type message... but can't be arsed. Daniel Craig and David Tennat? Maybe not quite as horrible as the Tony "I am Bovvered" Blair Sketch. Maybe the Noel Edmunds sketch gentally amused me, but that would be just sheer to Noel Edmunds and the fact that Noel Edmunds amuses me.

Little Britain? Oh Piss off... although the Des Kaye sketch slightly amused me due to Matt and David using a character THEY HAVEN'T FUCKING DONE TO FUCKING DEATH (Such as Lou and Andy, Marjorie Dawes, Anne, Mr.Mann... oh most of the fucking show).

What else? Andy Pipkin and that character from Phoenix nights (I don't know, I ignore Peter 'supposed comic genius' Kay's work) duet. It was so amusing I missed the 'hilarious' lyric change. They changed walk to roll because both characters are ironically hilarious offensive wheelchair user sterotypes! Whoopie Shit. Okay the video wasn't that bad, my mouth slightly crinkled in the corner where a smile would form.Mitchell and Webb? They were alright, basically just consisted of them using the Numberwang Numberflan sketch and the Table of Reds sketch but slightly adapting them. So you got Chris DeBurg of the hit song by Keane of the same title fame joining them. Although it was quite unintentionally amusing watching Carol Vordeman and Johnny Ball appear in Numberwang completly confused as to what they had agreed to do.

I found Russel Brand slightly funny again... Whoops! But I might of been slightly delirous after watching TV straight from 7:30 onto 4 in the morning.

The Top of the Pops/Top Gear thingy was actually pretty alright. It featured the top gear team being amusing cocks. It also featured McFly where they had to write a song with 3 specified words in (Sofa, Administration and Hyundai for those of your with better things to do), they did a shit job, they just sang them in the chorus, I wrote my own song in 5 minutes which is so brilliant I want to share it with you now.

My wife has popped out a child,
Another bloody runt to the litter,
We've only got three Bedrooms,
I think we should...
MOVE HOUSE
We've got to
MOVE HOUSE
There's administration costs,
Gotta Get the sofa out of the living room
And drag it from your Huyandi Exhuast
The kid can't sleep in our room anymore,
Little Bethany wants a room with pink walls,
And we need fucking room to send the kids too,
I think we should...
[Repeat Chorus]
It's not like we don't like our house,
Infact we've got some fond memories,
Like having Rumpy Pumpy on the kitchen sink,
I think we should...
[Repeat Chorus x 2]

In your face McFly!

What else? Well the Armando Iannuci Time Trumpet style bit about Comic Relief was alright, but then it was on at 2:50 AM so at that point in a state of delirousness I forgave the hit and miss format of Time Trumpet.

Mighty Boosh just reusing material that was mildly amusing for fans but confusing as fuck for those who've never seen the show. (I've had to justify the comedy of pies during the secret police mans balls to two of my housemates and explain what was amsuing about the mighty boosh, no words really came out "It's ummm... strange... I'm strange... strange things amuse me" I believe I came out with)

I gave up watching the Simon Pegg and Nick Frost clip show presented show, I was doing so well, I watched upto the last half of it, but gave up and went to bed at 4AM. Pegg and Frost were their natual slightly amusing double act selves. And clips of Coogan and Serifinovich warmed my comedy heart

And whatelse? Oh I want to fucking slap the music selector. Using Overplayed hit Chasing cars for the well meaning please donate videos? Like no one has thought of that. At least they didn't use any fucking Coldplay or the Fray's how to save a life. Obvious music ques annoy the fuck out of me. I almsot threw a bottle at a screen in a cinema in Crawley when watching Wedding Crashers and the used coldplay for an 'emotional' scene.

But it's all okay because it was for charity of course.

I'm just gutted I missed the sugababes and girl aloud doing their cracking duet which is quite so awful it's leaving me confused as to wether it's so awful it's brilliant or just so awful it's shite.
